Clyde River/Bhundoo Sea Kayak Tour

The Clyde River, known as Bhundoo to the local Yuin people, begins in the Budawang Mountains to the North and flows Southward for over 100 kms to join the Tasman Sea at Batemans Bay. One of the last major rivers in eastern Australia that has not been dammed, Bhundoo is also one of the cleanest and least polluted. The lower reach of the Clyde River is tidal estuary, approximately 30 kms long,  starting at Shallow Crossing and finishing at the Batemans Bay bridge.

 We paddle with the wind and the tide so that we can relax and enjoy the beauty of Bhundoo and the Clyde River National Park that surrounds it.

We do this tour by special request during the quieter months. Minimum three people.

Who Can Paddle

This extended river tour is a 13 km journey between Nelligen and Batemans Bay. It suits adults and families with older children.  A child of twelve maybe big enough to go in a double with a parent, a fourteen year old maybe able to go in a single depending on the forecast and the individual. Minimum three people required for tour or you could explore the Clyde by hiring our kayaks instead.

Things To Bring With You:

  • clothing appropriate for the weather

  • sunhat and sunblock

  • shoes that can get wet

  • water bottle

  • waterproof camera (we can supply waterproof bags)

Cost

  • Extended river tour $130 per person (approximately six hours, includes lunch and drinks). Minimum three people required.
